The annual Wounded Warrior run came through our community yesterday, raising money and awareness about mental health issues affecting armed forces and first responders. The effects of PTSD are widespread and severe, and too often not openly acknowledged. This year's 10th anniversary team members were welcomed at local Royal Canadian Legions where they made stops, including one last evening at Branch 256 Legion which staged an impressive welcome and banquet dinner, including presentation of numerous generous cheques of support to the Warriors. Congratulations to legion president Mike Uhre and all the organizers who made this very special evening possible.
