I was out of town on March 18, and was therefore not in attendance at the Nanaimo City Council meeting that evening - but I have watched the streamed

coverage of the meeting. A number of questions or concerned were raised by

residents regarding a possible Nanaimo connection to the WEF. Let me just say this: I have no use for, and no connection with the WEF. I voted against adopting

the Doughnut Economic Theory brought forward to Council by Councillors Brown and Geselbracht, mainly because I think it is infantile and has no relevance to GDP

economics. I was not aware the the author of the theory had connections to the WEF. I also voted against our new City Plan because it has the Doughnut theory as its basis. The more I learn, the more I am glad that I voted the way I did.
