Lest We Forget

Before any more time passes, I would like to acknowledge all the individuals and organizations that contributed to Nanaimo's annual Remembrance Day Ceremony,
held last Friday at the downtown Cenotaph. It was an honour for me to emcee the event, which returned to its traditional format following two years of Covid restrictions. A sizeable crowd attended in person, and many others watched via the local Shaw Cable broadcast. Certainly a highlight was the attendance of 104-year-old veteran Victor Osborne, and another was a return to the parade of veterans and cadets taking part. I was so glad that the rain held off and things went smoothly for this very important occasion.
