This past Wednesday and Thursday, October 25-26, I attended the annual
State of the Union Island Economic Summit at the Nanaimo Conference Centre. As usual, the Summit involved numerous speakers and workshops on a variety of economic-related topics. One of special interest to me was an examination of the challenges and options for better moving people and products on the Island. As well, there was a plenary session on Artificial Intelligence, and an opportunity for questions and answers with Premier Eby. The Summit concluded with a presentation from chief economist Susan Mowbray from MNP on economic trends and future prospects. An interesting and worthwhile session.
